How to Apply Latisse For Maximum Results

Latisse® is an excellent option to achieve longer, thicker, darker, and stronger lashes. At Park Meadows Aesthetics in Lone Tree, CO, we specialize in providing noninvasive procedures like Latisse to help you achieve your appearance goals and manage your aesthetic wellness over time.

Our practice focuses on injectables, skincare, and treatments that help maintain your appearance and look your best. One of our most popular take-home cosmetic enhancements is Latisse. Our patients often ask about how to apply Latisse for the best results, so we’re covering it here on the blog this month.

Steps for Applying Latisse

Knowing the correct application technique is key to getting the best possible results from Latisse. We recommend:

  • Clean Skin: Before applying Latisse, cleanse and dry your face. Use a gentle eye makeup remover to eliminate lingering eyeliner, mascara, or eyeshadow on and around your lashes.
  • Remove Contacts: If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying Latisse. You can reinsert your lenses 15 minutes after you use Latisse.
  • Applicator Prep: Each Latisse package comes with sterile, disposable applicators. Use a fresh applicator every day. Apply one drop of Latisse to the applicator at the point just above the tip (not on the tip itself).
  • Apply to Lashes: Gently apply the Latisse to the roots of your upper lashes. Don’t apply it to the lower lash line. When you blink, it transfers some product to the lower lash line to also help those lashes grow.
  • Wipe Away Residue: If any liquid gets onto the skin around your eyes, use a tissue to dab it off.
  • Be Consistent: Use Latisse once every evening. If you miss a day, don’t double up the next day.

It’s also important to note that using more than the recommended amount won’t speed up results and may increase the risk of irritation.

What to Expect From Latisse

Results take time, typically around 8-12 weeks, so patience and consistency are essential. You can expect full results at 16 weeks. The improvements you’ll see include:

  • Longer Lashes
  • Thicker and Fuller Lashes
  • Darker Lashes

While results are significant, you must use Latisse continuously to maintain them. If you stop using Latisse, your lashes will eventually return to their natural state.

Once you’ve achieved your goals, we can recommend a maintenance dose to help you keep your lashes looking great.
