What Is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a dermal filler and collagen stimulator that has a high patient satisfaction rate. It is made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite particles suspended in a gel formula. Once injected, it immediately plumps your skin and corrects lost volume while encouraging collagen production.
Collagen is a protein that is naturally present in your skin. You can think of collagen molecules as scaffolding or building blocks that are responsible for your skin’s structure and elasticity. Unfortunately, our bodies produce less collagen as we age, leading to the formation of lines and wrinkles.
Radiesse begins to add volume and smooth wrinkles the moment it is injected. These results will likely improve as the product stimulates new collagen. While the longevity of your results may vary, many patients have reported that they noticed an aesthetic improvement for a year or more.
What Areas Of The Face Can Radiesse Improve?
Radiesse is FDA-approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. Radiesse offers the natural results you desire by temporarily adding volume and encouraging continued collagen production.
This effective injectable treatment can be used on a variety of areas, including your:
- Smile lines
- Marionette lines
- Pre-jowl folds
- Downturned corners of the mouth
- Horizontal chin wrinkles
- Jawline
- Nose
- Cheeks
Hand Rejuvenation With Radiesse
Radiesse is the first and only filler that is approved by the FDA to treat volume loss in the back of the hands. Many people find that their hands give away their age, or make them look older than they actually are. Thankfully, this quick, in-office treatment can make your hands look younger and smoother.
Aging doesn’t just present itself on the face. In fact, your hands are often one of the first places to show signs of aging. Over time, the skin on your hands becomes thinner and your natural fat cushions begin to decrease. These factors can make your veins, tendons, and bones protrude.

Are Radiesse Injections Painful?
We understand that many patients are afraid of needles. That can make it feel intimidating to get dermal fillers like Radiesse. Fortunately, we employ several techniques to ensure your comfort.
Using fillers with lidocaine is the first measure that we take to promote a positive experience. Lidocaine is a pain-numbing agent that enhances patient comfort during dermal filler treatments.
Additionally, we offer ice packs during and after Radiesse appointments. Ice reduces discomfort, bruising, and swelling. If appropriate, our injectors will also gently massage the treated area.
With these precautions in place, Radiesse injections are very tolerable. You can expect a slight pinching sensation and some mild pressure. The treatment will be over before you know it!
Is There Any Recovery Time Needed After Receiving Radiesse?
Radiesse injections don’t require any downtime. However, they do require some aftercare.
We have a page dedicated to pretreatment and post-treatment best practices. In general, you will need to avoid things such as rubbing the treated area, participating in strenuous activities, and drinking alcohol. Due to the risk of bruising and swelling, you should seriously consider scheduling your Radiesse treatment at least two weeks before any important social events.
Can I Combine Radiesse With Other Cosmetic Treatments?
Radiesse can provide stunning results on its own. However, it also plays well with many of the treatments and services that we offer at Park Meadows Aesthetics. Our team will create a comprehensive treatment plan that is tailored to meet your unique needs and beauty goals.
Here are a few treatments that are compatible with Radiesse:
It’s not always recommended to perform these services on the same day. Talk to our office to learn more about the ideal scheduling frequency. We’ll help make things as easy as possible.
How Long Is The Process Of Receiving A Radiesse Dermal Filler?
Radiesse is a quick treatment that can be performed on your lunch break. It only takes a few minutes to administer the injections. However, we leave plenty of time for you to ask questions and learn about some of our other popular cosmetic treatment options during your appointment.
