• Use Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days.
• Stop Certain Skincare Products: Cease using products with retinoids, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, and benzoyl peroxide one week before your session.
• Avoid Skin Irritants: Do not wax, undergo chemical peels, or get collagen injections for two weeks before your appointment.
• Clean Your Skin: Ensure your skin is free from makeup, lotions, and perfumes on the day of the treatment.
• Compile Your Medical History: Inform your practitioner about any medications or medical conditions that might affect the treatment.
• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment to keep your skin hydrated.

During your treatment, the Lumecca IPL device will emit a bright flash of light that might feel like a light snap of elastic on your skin. You may experience redness and a slight warming sensation after treatment, which usually subsides within an hour. 

Over the next day or two, pigmented spots will likely begin to darken. These pigmented lesions will flake off over the course of the following week, and you should start to have a more even skin tone.
