Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons Serving Denver & Lone Tree, Colorado
Despite all of your efforts to achieve a toned figure, you may still struggle with small pockets of excess fat. This is often due to factors outside of your control, such as a genetic predisposition to store weight in certain areas.
At Park Meadows Aesthetics, under the guidance of two Johns Hopkins-trained, board-certified plastic surgeons, we are excited to offer CoolSculpting® to patients who want a noninvasive, non-surgical procedure to reduce stubborn fat. We've performed over 2,800 treatment cycles to date, and we were one of the first practices to offer the absolute newest technology in CoolSculpting - CoolSculpting Elite.
CoolSculpting Elite features improved applicators for a better fit and function that complements patients' natural curves. We can treat up to FOUR areas at one time - which decreases the amount of time you'll need to plan to be in our office.
We are proud to have experienced registered nurses serving as CoolSculpting specialists who will listen to your aesthetic goals and help determine if CoolSculpting is right for you. Please call 303.662.8668Â to schedule your complimentary cosmetic consultation. We proudly serve Denver, Lone Tree, and other nearby areas of Colorado.

What Is Coolsculpting?
CoolSculpting is an effective body contouring treatment that utilizes controlled cooling to gently reduce the fat cells in targeted areas. The treated cells are frozen and then removed by your body. This process is safe and does not harm or affect the surrounding tissue. CoolSculpting Elite is the most advanced technology and allows for the best tissue contact, and ultimately, the best results for you.
CoolSculpting can be used to treat the following areas:
- Double chin
- Upper arms
- Sides
- Abdomen
- Outer thighs
- Inner thighs
- Bra bulge
- Beneath the buttocks
- Back
What Are The Benefits Of Coolsculpting?
What’s the benefit of losing up to a quarter of the fat in an area without any incisions, anesthesia, downtime, or recovery? That’s what CoolSculpting does. This was the first, and still the most popular, non-invasive way to remove pockets of unwanted fat. Performed millions of times around the world, CoolSculpting has proven to be an unmitigated success. Our patients from Lone Tree and the surrounding areas love that they can come in for a CoolSculpting session and read a book or watch videos on an iPad while their unwanted fat is frozen and the destroyed fat cells are then removed by the body over the next few weeks. When their session is over, they can go right back to work or their normal activities and watch over the next weeks as their contour slims across the treatment areas.
Just for the sake of a list, here are the benefits of CoolSculpting Elite at Park Meadows:
- Removes 20-25 percent of the fat in the treatment areas.
- Completely non-invasive.
- No injections. No incisions.
- 96.6% acceptable tissue contact, which means a better fit and function (as compared to the older models of CoolSculpting Machines).
- During your session, you can read, take a nap, watch videos, whatever.
- We can treat up to FOUR areas at one time.
- There is no downtime.
- There is no recovery.
- There are no reactions.
- FDA approval for eight different treatment areas.
- No danger of skin burning or damage.
- Over 6 million procedures have been done worldwide.
- Just about anyone can have CoolSculpting done.
Am I a CoolSculpting Candidate?
Our experienced plastic surgeons and trained registered nurses can determine if you are a candidate during your consultation. Generally speaking, you may benefit from a CoolSculpting treatment if you:
- Struggle with fat that is resistant to diet and exercise
- Are looking for a noninvasive way to tone your body
Coolsculpting is not a substitute for weight loss. Ideal candidates for this treatment are generally near their target weight.
What Is CoolSculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting Elite is the newest and most advanced CoolSculpting device. It’s the product of more than a decade of research and development. Did you know that millions of CoolSculpting sessions have been performed with the original version since 2010? CoolSculpting Elite was re-engineered using insights gained from all those non-surgical body contouring appointments.
This device is the next generation of non-invasive fat reduction. It’s an excellent way to target stubborn pockets of unwanted fat all over the body for a slimmer and more sculpted figure.
What Is The Difference Between Coolsculpting And Coolsculpting Elite?
CoolSculpting and CoolSculpting Elite are both fat reduction treatments. And they both use gentle cooling energy to contour problem areas. However, there are notable differences between the two devices. Our CoolSculpting Team Leads will gladly explain all of the changes.
Some of the most significant advantages of CoolSculpting Elite include that it:
- Provides more fat reduction
- Covers a larger area during treatment
- Can treat two areas at once instead of one
- Has the largest variety of applicator sizes
Not many practices offer CoolSculpting Elite. We’re proud to provide this advanced service.
Is Coolsculpting Elite Better Than Coolsculpting?
What would happen if everything that you know and love about the original CoolSculpting treatment got taken to the next level for a superior body contouring experience? Well, then you’d have CoolSculpting Elite. It’s better than the traditional device in every way imaginable.
There’s no reason to visit an aesthetic practice that doesn’t offer this upgraded version of CoolSculpting. We feel so strongly about it that we dedicated an entire blog to the subject. In short, CoolSculpting Elite offers more fat reduction in less time than the classic device. It also comes with the largest variety of applicator sizes so that you can enjoy even greater precision.
Pricing doesn’t need to be a deciding factor when it comes to choosing a CoolSculpting service. Our practice regularly offers specials on CoolSculpting Elite. It’s also part of our exclusive loyalty program. We believe all of our body contouring patients deserve access to the latest treatments.
Is there any preparation necessary before my CoolSculpting session?
Really the only thing necessary is to stop taking any medications or supplements that can thin the blood, such as fish oil, aspirin, ibuprofen, even turmeric or ginger. These can increase bruising when the CoolSculpting panels apply suction to the targeted skin and fat tissue.
If you have some extra weight, it’s a great idea to lose it, if possible, prior to your session at Park Meadows. You need to remember — CoolSculpting is a body contouring procedure, not a weight-loss procedure. The slimmer the target areas are, the more contoured CoolSculpting will make them. The new CoolSculpting Elite applicators have been redesigned to optimize the fit and function that complements a your natural curves.
What Can I Expect During My Coolsculpting Treatment?
After discussing your goals and evaluating your physique, our CoolSculpting Team Leads (our registered nurses) will create your individualized treatment plan. This will include recommendations on which areas should be treated and how many treatments you might need. Most people achieve their desired results after two sessions, but sometimes a third is recommended.
The CoolSculpting procedure can be performed from the comfort of our office in 35-60 minutes depending on the treatment area. You may experience a cold sensation or mild pinching during the treatment. These feelings will gradually subside over the course of your procedure. Feel free to multitask by reading a book, checking your email, or surfing the internet. We want you to be comfortable and relaxed! With CoolSculpting Elite, we can treat up to FOUR areas at one time, getting you back to your busy schedule right away.
There is little to no downtime associated with CoolSculpting. Many people resume their normal daily activities after the treatment. Other people prefer to take the day off, as it is possible to experience redness or some mild swelling. Our nurses will discuss these considerations with you during your consultation.
Noticeable improvement can be seen in as little as 3 weeks. The most dramatic body sculpting benefits are typically seen after about 2 months. The results from CoolSculpting are long-lasting. However, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle after your treatment as future weight gain can result in the accumulation of fat in other areas of your body.
How does a CoolSculpting session work?
When you come to our Park Meadows offices for a CoolSculpting session, there’s no need for any local anesthetic or pain relief. You simply sit in our angled treatment chair and we position the CoolSculpting panels over the treatment area. The panels produce suction that draws the skin, underlying tissue, and fat up between the two cooling panels. We then set the temperature to the freezing point of the fat cells and deliver that cooling down into the drawn-up skin and tissue. The fat cells freeze and the body begins the process of eliminating them. As the session progresses, we repeat this process several times across the treatment area. A total session takes from one to three hours, depending on the size of the treatment areas. Patients watch videos, work on their laptops, read, even take a nap during their sessions. At the end of your session, we massage the treatment area for two to three minutes to help alleviate numbness from the cooling panels.
How many CoolSculpting sessions do I need?
Most people achieve their desired results after two sessions, but sometimes a third is recommended. Each area treated with CoolSculpting requires about one hour. During the first treatment on an individual area, the freezing kills 20-25 percent of the fat in the area. Subsequent sessions on the same area are used to further sculpt the area.
Once our patients treat an area such as the abdomen, however, they often come back to treat a second or third area in subsequent months.
Is a CoolSculpting session painful?
You could call the feeling chilled, but not painful. First, you’ll sense a feeling of light suction as the CoolSculpting panels draw up the skin, underlying tissue, and fat between the two cooling panels. When the CoolSculpting panels deliver the fat freezing cold down into the targeted tissue, you’ll feel a sensation of intense cold for up to 10 minutes, but then the area becomes numb and you don’t feel anything else for the rest of your session. Our patients say the feeling is unusual but not painful.
Will my results be visible immediately with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting doesn’t deliver instant results. The fat cells that have been frozen and destroyed need to be removed from the body through the lymphatic system. This takes a little time. Some of our Park Meadows patients say they begin to see changes at about three weeks. The most dramatic slimming shows itself at about two months after your session, as the body really sheds those destroyed fat cells. The area continues to slim and tighten for up to six months.
When can I get back to my normal activities after my CoolSculpting session?
There isn’t any downtime at all. As mentioned above, our CoolSculpting team will massage the treated area after your session. This gets the blood flowing back to the area and eliminates any numbness. Then you’re ready to go and get back to your normal day. Our newest technology, CoolSculpting Elite, allows us to treat up to FOUR areas at one time, getting you back to your normal activites quickly.
How Does CoolSculpting Work on Smaller Areas Like the Bra Line or Double Chin?
When it comes to excess fat, small areas of the body can be a big concern for some people. Fortunately, CoolSculpting makes it possible to address these treatment zones with precision.
CoolSculpting developed a smaller handpiece known as CoolMini. For smaller areas, we use this handpiece to freeze the fat cells. Otherwise, the procedure is the same.
Can CoolSculpting Be Done on the Face?
CoolSculpting can be performed on the submental area. This area is located under your chin and, when impacted by excess fat deposits, is commonly referred to as a double chin. It can also be used on the submandibular area, which is right underneath the jawline. Treating these spots can give you a slimmer and more contoured look — even if the excess fat is genetic.
Currently, CoolSculpting does not have FDA clearance to treat buccal fat or other concerns above the jawline. If you have questions about a particular area, please contact our team.
Can Men Receive CoolSculpting Treatments?
Of course! It’s time to let go of the idea that aesthetic services are just for women. The reality is that CoolSculpting can eliminate excess fat for people of all sexes and gender identities.
Men often turn to CoolSculpting to banish diet and exercise-resistant fat. The treatment can help you tackle problem spots such as your love handles, abdomen, thighs, back, and upper arms. It can even be an effective alternative to breast reduction surgery for men with pseudo-gynecomastia. Talk to our staff to learn about achieving your goals with CoolSculpting.
Can You Exercise After Coolsculpting?
There are no activity restrictions after CoolSculpting. You can exercise right away if you want to. However, some patients prefer to wait until any post-treatment discomfort or swelling subsides.
If you feel comfortable working out when your CoolSculpting session is over, feel free to do so. You can always focus on training the parts of your body that you didn’t treat during your visit.
Is Coolsculpting Permanent?
CoolSculpting works by freezing and destroying fat cells that are gradually eliminated by your body. These fat cells cannot regenerate, regrow, or come back after your treatment is done.
That said, it is still possible to gain weight after CoolSculpting. Weight gain will increase the size of your remaining fat cells. Because this tends to happen evenly across the body, there is a good chance that the treated area will still look better than if you never got CoolSculpting.
Will I Lose Weight With Coolsculpting?
CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment. Rather, it is a body contouring treatment. CoolSculpting is designed to sculpt and shape targeted pockets of stubborn extra fat.
You might lose a few pounds with CoolSculpting. However, that is enough to improve the shape and contour of the treated area. In some cases, it can translate to several inches lost.
Is Coolsculpting Safe?
CoolSculpting has been cleared by the FDA to treat eight different areas of the body (the most recent was the submandibular area under the jawline). For each additional area, the FDA has required proof of the safety of this process. To date, over 6,000,000 CoolSculpting procedures have been performed around the world. It has proven to be safe and quite effective.
What are the risks involved with CoolSculpting?
Following a CoolSculpting treatment, typical side effects include temporary redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, or skin sensitivity on the treatment area. These generally pass in a couple of hours.
Can CoolSculpting Help With Cellulite?
CoolSculpting targets fat cells by freezing and eliminating them. However, it is not designed to treat cellulite.
Cellulite results from fibrous bands pulling on the skin, causing a dimpled appearance. CoolSculpting focuses on fat reduction.Â
Some patients may see slight improvements in the appearance of cellulite after fat reduction. For optimal results, though, your provider will likely recommend a combination of treatments like skin tightening or cellulite-specific procedures.
What Should I Wear to My CoolSculpting Session?
Comfort is key when preparing for your CoolSculpting session. Wear loose, comfortable clothing for easy access to the treatment area.
Since your provider will place the CoolSculpting applicator on your skin, it's a good idea to wear something that won't be restrictive. Additionally, bring extra layers to ensure your comfort. The treatment room may be cool, and the gel pads used during the procedure can feel cold.
How Does CoolSculpting Differ From Liposuction?
CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis, or fat-freezing technology, to destroy fat cells. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes fat through small incisions.
CoolSculpting requires no anesthesia or downtime. This makes it appealing to those seeking minimal disruption to their routine.
Liposuction may produce more dramatic results in a single session. However, it comes with longer recovery times and potential surgical risks.
Will CoolSculpting Tighten Loose Skin?
CoolSculpting is not designed to tighten loose skin. It works by reducing fat beneath the skin but does not have a direct effect on skin elasticity.
If you have issues with loose or sagging skin, treatments like radiofrequency therapy or laser skin tightening may complement CoolSculpting to help achieve a more toned appearance. Consult with your provider about your goals. This will help you determine the most effective treatment plan for your needs.
Does CoolSculpting Work on People With Darker Skin Tones?
Yes, CoolSculpting is safe and effective for people of all skin tones. This includes those with darker skin.
Since the procedure targets fat cells beneath the skin and does not involve heat or laser energy, there is no risk of hyperpigmentation or damage to the skin's surface.
How Should I Care For My Skin Post-CoolSculpting?
After CoolSculpting, it's important to care for your skin. Here are some dos and don'ts to keep in mind:
- Avoid strenuous activities for the first day (but normal activities can resume immediately)
- Keep the treated area clean and dry
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing to prevent irritation
You may notice temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness, which is normal. Staying hydrated and gently massaging the treated area can help with recovery. Be sure to follow any other aftercare instructions from your provider to maintain your results.
