Not all wrinkles are the same, and neither are the treatments for them. If you’re trying to figure out whether fillers or neuromodulators make more sense for your concerns, our team at Park Meadows Aesthetics in Lone Tree, Colorado, can walk you through the differences and help you choose. You’ll be in good hands with our skilled aesthetic nurse injectors.
Neuromodulators vs. Fillers: What’s the Difference?
Neuromodulators and fillers are both injectable treatments. Neither is better across the board; they’re just built for different jobs.
Neuromodulators like BOTOX temporarily relax targeted muscles to smooth out lines caused by repeated facial expressions. Fillers are gel-like substances, often made with hyaluronic acid, that add volume beneath the skin.
One works by softening movement, and the other by restoring shape and support.
Should You Get Fillers or Neuromodulators for Wrinkles?
The right choice depends on what you’re hoping to improve. Some wrinkles form from repeated facial movements, which are called dynamic wrinkles. These are best treated with neuromodulators.
Other kinds of wrinkles are visible even when your face is at rest due to volume loss or skin laxity – these are known as static wrinkles, which fillers can better address.
Most people have a combination of dynamic and static wrinkles, which is why a personalized plan matters more than choosing one treatment over the other.
Injectables at Park Meadows Aesthetics
During your consultation, our nurse injectors will take a close look at your facial structure, how your muscles move, and the changes you’d like to see.
Based on that, they’ll walk you through the options that make the most sense for your features and the type of wrinkles you want to treat:
Neuromodulators
- BOTOX® Cosmetic: Smooths frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines
- Dysport®: Treats similar areas as BOTOX®, often spreading more evenly in larger zones like the forehead
- Xeomin®: Targets frown lines with a purified formula that may reduce the risk of resistance over time
Fillers
- Juvederm® XC, Vollure®, Belotero Balance®: Soften facial lines and folds
- Volbella® & Revanesse® Lips™+: Add volume to lips and smooth lip lines
- Voluma® & Volux®: Add structure to the cheeks or jawline for balanced facial contour
- Radiesse®: Plump up the lower face while stimulating collagen
